PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a quantum-entangled photon pair generator which has the cost and size reduced and uses a spontaneous four-wave mixing process. SOLUTION: A quantum-entangled photon pair generator 100 includes: a double pump optical pulse light source 101 which outputs a double pump optical pulse; a silicon waveguide 102 which receives the double pump optical pulse to generate quantum-entangled photon pairs relating to a time position, comprising signal photons and idler photons; a pump light suppression filter 103 which selectively suppresses the double pump optical pulse from quantum-entangled photon pairs; a separation filter 104 which separates signal photons and idler photons from quantum-entangled photon pairs having the double pump optical pulse suppressed; and a signal photon output terminal 104A and an idler photon output terminal 104B from which separated signal photons and idler photons are output respectively, are provided. The silicon waveguide 102 being a single crystal semiconductor waveguide is used as a quantum correlated photon pair generation part in the spontaneous four-wave mixing process.
