PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device of a liquid crystal dropping and sealing type, which prevents unevenness of an image and buckling of a column when a pressure is applied from an external in sealing liquid crystal with a negative pressure in order to prevent generation of impact bubbles. SOLUTION: An interval between a TFT substrate 10 and a counter substrate 20 is set by a first column 30. A second column 40 is in a contact hole 50, and is not in contact with the TFT substrate 10. The second column 40 is in contact with a sidewall or the like of the contact hole 50 formed on the TFT substrate 10 when the pressure is applied from the external, and the interval between the TFT substrate 10 and the counter substrate 20 is prevented from being extremely reduced by repulsive force of the second column 40. Accordingly, the unevenness of the image or buckling of the first column 30 when the pressure is applied from the external can be prevented. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
