PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely detect a foreign matter even when the viscosity of liquid to be inspected is large. SOLUTION: The foreign matter detector is provided with a liquid irradiation means for irradiating the liquid in the vessel by having a light guide part formed of a light guide material for guiding illumination light from an illumination means from any one of upward, downward, and sideward directions of the vessel.
