PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tire wheel vibration proof method for a tire wheel holding chuck, in which a damper is abutted on a rim end without giving an impact, and a device for carrying out the action in a short time. SOLUTION: A damper holding member 11 is provided to be movable along a chuck axial line L by a fluid pressure cylinder 21, and the damper holding member 11 is moved by low fluid pressure to apply a rim end Wb of a tire wheel W to a corresponding damper pin 18 of a plurality of dampers 14 till a center boss part of the tire wheel W is applied to a stopper 10. After the damper holding member 11 is moved downward along the chuck axial line L against the low fluid pressure through a spring 20, the fluid pressure is changed from low to high. The spring 20 is compressed by the stroke ST of a damper pin 18, and the damper holding member 11 is moved upward along the chuck axial line L (to a forward position A) till a damper case 16 is applied to the rim end Wb of the tire wheel W.
