PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device and an image forming method for forming an image using a plurality of laser beams. SOLUTION: This image forming device includes a controller 308 for forming the image using the plurality of laser beams, and for controlling the formation of an electrostatic latent image onto a photoreceptor drum, a laser output setting circuit 304 for controlling an output of each laser beams to form the electrostatic latent image, an output level control circuit 306 for generating a control value for lighting each laser element on, in order to emit the laser beam, using a set value from the laser output setting circuit 304, and a driver circuit 204 for supplying a lighting current to the laser element, based on the control signal, and the laser output setting circuit 304 is fed back with a lighting time of each laser element and sets the laser output of each laser element.
