The device has a pair of cameras (11, 12) arranged at a rear vehicle element. An indicating device is arranged at a front vehicle element for displaying images that are taken by the cameras. A mobile quick-action fixture device (14) fixes the cameras at different rear vehicle elements. The mobile quick-action fixture device has a tension rod (15), which is extendable on different lengths, and a restoring tension force opposes the change in the length. The cameras are attached at respective ends of the tension rod.
