<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reproducer and reproducing method, reproducing a system clock of a receiver side synchronously with a system clock of a transmitter side, even if transport streams are not captured at a predetermined rate. <P>SOLUTION: When a predetermined number of TSs with time stamp are accumulated in a TTS buffer 11, a transmitter side system clock frequency calculating means calculates a transmitter side system clock frequency from a ratio between the difference value of the time stamp calculated by a time stamp difference value calculating section 15 and the transmission time calculated by a transmission time calculating section 14 based on a TS rate acquired by a TS rate acquiring section 13. A receiver side system clock frequency calculating section 18 calculates the frequency of a receiver side system clock to be generated by a system clock oscillation section 17.
