<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new puzzle game device and puzzle game program. <P>SOLUTION: In an answer area comprising a plurality of squares arranged in a matrix shape, connection squares for which a plurality of prescribed squares are related to each other are displayed. A normal hint numeral which corresponds to one of the respective rows and respective columns of the matrix and indicates the number of the squares to be marked in the corresponding row or column is displayed, and further a large-sized hint numeral which indicates the number of the squares to be marked continuously over the plurality of adjacent rows or the plurality of adjacent columns is displayed over the plurality of rows or the plurality of columns.
