PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent or minimize ripples and flickers due to fluctuation in power supply voltage, in an image forming apparatus equipped with a fixing device having a plurality of heating means (heater). SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a control means A for repeatedly controlling the power supply to the plurality of heating means H by a power supply means G at a control cycle. The control means A includes: a means B for setting at least the control cycle T1; a means C for setting a time (t1) to supply power to the first heating means having the largest power consumption in the heating means to which the power is supplied within the control cycle T1 and a time (t2) to supply power to the second heating means having the second largest power consumption; and a means F for controlling the power supply to the first heating means during the power supply period t1 from the beginning of the control cycle T1, and controlling the power supply to the second heating means in a period from the point of time obtained by subtracting the power supply time t2 from the last of the control cycle T1 to the last of the control cycle T1.
