PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an array substrate and a display panel having the array substrate improved in transmittance. SOLUTION: The array substrate includes a thin film transistor layer, a control electrode, an insulating layer and a pixel electrode. The thin film transistor layer includes a first switching element connected to gate wiring and data wiring that cross each other. The control electrode is formed on the thin film transistor layer. The insulating layer is formed on the control electrode. The pixel electrode includes a micro-slit pattern, and is formed to overlap the control electrode on the insulating layer and electrically connected to the first switching element. Consequently, the pixel electrode formed with the micro-slit pattern, and the control electrode have an effective voltage difference.
