PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for repairing a body panel of a car by which the optimum working method (natural drying or forced drying ) is selected corresponding to working time so as to attain high efficiency of the curing work of a surfacer. SOLUTION: The method of repairing the damaged panel surface of the car body includes a surfacer applying and curing step for applying and curing the surfacer before the applying of a coating material. In the step for applying and curing the surfacer, the surfacer containing a volatile solvent is applied on an area to be coated with the coating material. As the drying and curing method of the surfacer, a method for heating the applied surfacer to≥60°C while irradiating with energy ray to vaporize the solvent and to dry and cure the surfacer is also one of alternatives.
