PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a balancer device of an engine with an oil pump capable of preventing oil stirred by a chain and having air mixed therein from being sucked into an oil strainer by defining a chain side space and an oil strainer side one, and to improve assembly work efficiency of a chain tensioner and ease of installation of the balancer device. SOLUTION: A protrusion 52 protruded in a direction orthogonal to a balancer shaft in a balancer housing 16 when a cylinder block is seen from an attachment surface side of an oil pan is formed in an oil pump housing 46, and the oil strainer 54 is attached on a side wall of this protrusion 52 on the opposite side of the chain. Moreover, the chain tensioner 56 giving tension to the chain 50 is arranged in a space having the attachment surface of the oil pan expanded outward to store the protrusion 52.
