PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently separate multiple kinds of cells having different dielectrophoretic properties, using a simple constitution. SOLUTION: A cell separation device 1 comprises a flow path 2 through which a cell suspension is made to flow, wherein the cell suspension contains multiple kinds of cells A and B which have different dielectrophoretic properties; electrodes 3a and 3b, disposed to face each other in a direction of intersecting the flow direction L of the cell suspension that flows in the flow path 2; an electric field gradient forming means 4, which generates an electric field strength gradient formed in between the electrodes 3a and 3b; and a power supply source 5 for applying an alternating voltage, having a direct current component across the electrodes 3a and 3b.
