PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a "broadcast receiver" which selects a broadcast estimated to match user's preference most with a high probability among a plurality of broadcasts assigned to a number key as a broadcast to be provided for a user when the number key is operated. SOLUTION: Current viewing times of broadcasting stations of respective organization channels registered for one number key are checked, and sub-numbers are given to the respective organization channels such that smaller sub-numbers are given to organization channels of broadcasting stations having longer viewing times. When the number key is operated, the organization channel having the smallest sub-number registered for the number key is selected as an organization channel to be received. When the same number key is repeatedly operated, organization channels to be received are changed in the order of sub-numbers among the organization channels registered for the number key in response to each operation.
