PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blank separating device capable of preventing breakage of a base portion for supporting a magnetic force generating means even if the magnetic force generating means is raised by a blank projecting from a side surface of a stack of the blanks, and to provide a blank separation-attraction transferring method. SOLUTION: This blank separating device A comprises an elevating lift 5 for elevating a stack W of a plurality of layered blanks, a magnetic force generating means 1 abutting on a side surface of the stack and forming a gap for separation between a blank w1 positioned in the highest position and a blank w2 positioned just under the blank w1, a base part 2 for supporting the magnetic force generating means 1 freely to slide upward, an inclination detecting means 3 for detecting inclination of the magnetic force generating means 1, and a moving means 4 for retreating the magnetic force generating means 1 in the axial direction vertical to the side surface of the stack.
