PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a head temperature detection accuracy. SOLUTION: This ink-jet recording head comprises a substrate 11 having a plurality of heating elements 15 generating a heat energy used for jetting an ink. The substrate 11 has wires 25e, 25f for supplying electric signals to the heating elements 15, discharge holes 14 so installed as to correspond to the heating elements 15, respectively, and ink flow passages 13 communicating with the jetting holes 14, respectively. Also, the ink-jet recording head comprises a temperature detection element 17 for detecting the temperatures of a common liquid chamber 12 communicating with the ink flow passages 13 and the substrate 11. A heat conductive layer 16 with a heat conductivity higher than that of the substrate 11 is formed on the substrate 11 from near the heating elements 15 to the temperature detection element 17.
