The invention relates to a beater, especially for comminuting devices comprising a rotor or at least one shaft on which the beater (1) can be mounted. Said beater (1) is composed of a base (2) that has a through-hole (A) which is used for connecting the beater (1) to the rotor or the shaft, and at least one cutting head (3) that can be releasably/fixedly connected to the base (2). The invention is characterized in that the base (2) encompasses a cavity (4) which is disposed inside the base (2) and into which at least one connecting attachment (5) positively engages, said connecting attachment (5) being located on the cutting head (3).
