POWER TRANSMISSION CHAIN AND POWER TRANSMISSION DEVICE

A power transmission chain and a power transmission device in which not only the noise is reduced but also the durability is enhanced by removing an unfavorable ones from the random arrangement of pitch length and pin shape while paying attention to the maximum bending angle and the minimum bending angle. There are two kinds of links with regard to the pitch length, i.e. links (L1) of short pitch length and links (L2) of long pitch length, and there are two kinds of pins with regard to the pin shape, i.e. pins (P1) with a rolling contact faces of large curvature and pins (P2) with a rolling contact faces of small curvature. Relation of the link element and the relative rotation angle is analyzed for various arrangements and an arrangement having an increasing maximum bending angle (e.g. an arrangement where a combination (L2, P2) immediately follows a combination (L1, P1) in the advancing direction of chain) or an arrangement having a too small minimum bending angle is removed.
