The head rest (10) has a base part (11) supported by a holder (14) at a backrest of a vehicle seat. A head attachment part (13) is supported relative to the base part and is moved between a base position and a safety position. The head attachment part is moved into the safety position by drive devices (V, 19). The base part and/or the head attachment part has accommodating hubs (15, 18) for the drive devices formed in round-shape. The drive devices are arranged in the hubs. Holding units are attached to the hubs, where the drive devices are held in the hubs by the holding units.
