PIGMENT DISPERSION, MANUFACTURING METHOD OF PIGMENT INK, RECORDING APPARATUS OBTAINED USING THE SAME, AND RECORDED MATTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve both preservability of a pigment dispersion and an aqueous pigment ink (particularly no changes of properties when preserved at a high temperature) and jetting properties and image density of the pigment ink which may be deteriorated when carbon black is used.

SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the pigment dispersion comprises preparing the pigment dispersion comprising a dispersed pigment particle which has an average particle size (D50) of at most 200 nm and a standard deviation of the particle size smaller than the average particle size (D50) in a particle size distribution of the pigment particle by a manufacturing process comprising a step wherein a mixture comprising at least a carbon black pigment, a dispersant and water is dispersed by means of a media mill and subsequently redispersed by a medialess mill where an ultrasonic dispersing machine is used as the medialess mill.
