PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite hollow mesoporous silica particle comprising an outer shell part which has a mesoporous structure and contains a metal or a metal compound in its inner wall, and a manufacturing method thereof. SOLUTION: (1) The composite hollow mesoporous silica particle comprises the outer shell part which is made of a silica having a mesoporous structure with an average pore diameter of 1-10 nm and contains the metal or the metal compound in the inner wall of the outer shell part. (2) The manufacturing method of the composite hollow mesoporous silica particle comprises: step (I) of forming a hollow mesoporous silica particle; step (II) of impregnating the obtained hollow mesoporous silica particle with a metal complex solution and; step (III) of drying and/or firing the mesoporous silica particle containing the metal complex solution inside its hollow part obtained in step (II).
