PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling structure of an electric motor which has such a constitution that a pump installed outside the electric motor can be installed in the electric motor, and is made compact in size. SOLUTION: There are formed a plurality of cooling oil passages 13 which pass vicinities of a plurality of permanent magnets arranged in a rotor core 4, and vertically penetrate the rotor core 4. An annular groove 11b which communicates with each cooling oil passage 13 is formed at the lower face of a lower plate 11. The annular groove 11b communicates with a discharging port of the pump 30 which closely contacts with the lower plate 11. The pump 30 is constituted of a rotor shaft 5 which serves as a drive shaft, and can pressure-send oil in an oil basin 15 formed at the bottom of a motor housing 2 into each cooling oil passage 13. Oil ejected from each cooling oil passage 13 can cool a stator coil 8 of the stator core 3, and an upper coil end 8a. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
