PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handy photographing apparatus, etc. with the compact size and light weight, which obtains a subject spectral image in which high color reproduction is possible. SOLUTION: The photographing apparatus includes LEDs 6a-6f for emitting illumination light with different spectrum, a CCD (8) in which a color filter array (CFA) 19 is arranged, which picks-up a subject image that is illuminated by the LEDs and is formed by an image pick-up optical system (7), and a CPU 18 which controls lighting-on of the LEDs and image pick-up of the CCD 8. A transparent band of each filter of the CFA 19 includes spectrums of a plurality of illumination lights. The LEDs 6a-6f have a plurality of selected device groups, wherein the device groups are comprised of a plurality of light emitting devices for mutually emitting illumination lights having the spectrums included in different transparent bands of the CFA 9. The CPU 18 sequentially lights-on the device group for every group, performs image pick-up of the CCD 8 a plurality of times to acquire a plurality of subject spectroscopic images.
