PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor that prevents the occurrence of moire stripes in a print output image by preventing interference between a periodical pattern included in input image data and a matrix pattern of a threshold matrix set during screen processing. SOLUTION: The image processor has a periodical-pattern detection means 12, which distinguishes between a period region and a non-period region in input image data by detecting a periodical pattern, and an image data processing means 14 that converts the input image data into output image data having prescribed gradation so as to reduce a periodical pattern, exceeding a prescribed threshold level, detected by the periodical-pattern detection means 12.
