PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire excellent in road hazard-resistance and capable of also attaining reduced weight. SOLUTION: The pneumatic tire is provided with a pair of left and right bead parts 1; and a carcass ply 4 extending from a crown part to both bead parts 1 via both side parts. A tire flatness ratio is 30-65%, a carcass ply cord of the carcass ply 4 contains at least 65 mass% or more of polyketone fiber, and tensile strength as the cord taken out from the tire is 8 cN/dtex or more. The carcass ply 4 includes weft yarn crossing to the cord arranged in an approximately radial direction, and the weft yarn is cut at a plurality of positions in a tire circumferential direction with an approximately constant interval.
