PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer and a printing system which require neither human work when switching to back face printing on continuous form paper, nor printing data turning processing for a back face printing. SOLUTION: The printer 101 is provided with: a printing unit for making printing while conveying continued form paper 102 conveyed in a predetermined direction from a first paper conveying path 126 or a second paper conveying path 127; a tractor 125 for back face printing, which holds one end of the continued form paper 102 after its one face printing is finished; and a controller 131 making control such that: the printing unit makes printing on one face of the continuous form paper 102 through the first paper conveying path 126; the continuous form paper 102 is supplied to the second paper conveying path 127 while one end of the continued from paper 102 is being held by a tractor 125 for back face printing after the one face printing is finished; and the printing unit makes printing on the other face of the continuous form paper 102.
