Provided are a method of communicating an e-mail and an apparatus using the same. The method includes: selecting at least one image file; generating an index file including an index image of the at least one image file; and generating an e-mail including the at least one image file and the index file. Accordingly, the image file can be checked by simply checking the index file having a relatively small size. In addition, desired image files can be selectively downloaded.
