<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium with simple configuration, high S/N, and suitable for a multilayer medium. <P>SOLUTION: This optical recording medium 1 is provided with: a periodic structure layer 3 formed on one surface in which reproducing light is made incident and having a periodic structure part 5 wherein the reproducing light is diffracted by a fine irregularities; and an optical recording layer 2 provided in contact with one surface of the periodic structure layer 3 and having a refractive index to the reproducing light lower than that of the periodic structure layer 3 and changed by irradiation with recording light. One of the refractive indexes before and after change of the optical recording layer 2 transmits the reproducing light on the other surface side of the periodic structure layer 3 and the other refractive index resonantly reflects the diffracted light by the periodic structure part 5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
