PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve convenience by setting whether to suppress the resumption of an output when any failure generated in an image forming apparatus is restored from an information processor side.

SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes a mode storage part 104 for storing the operation mode of a printer 100; a reception part 151 for receiving a device acquisition command to designate an operation mode and print data and the print request of the print data from a host PC 300; a judgement part 152 for judging whether or not a designated operation mode is an automatic resumption suppression mode to suppress print resumption after print failure generated during the reception of print data is restored; a setting part 153 for setting the operation mode of the printer 100 to the automatic resumption suppression mode when the designated operation mode is the automatic resumption suppression mode; a transmission part 154 for transmitting device information showing that the automatic resumption suppression mode is set to the host PC300; and a printing part 155 for printing the received print data according to the operation mode.
