<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of preparing a catalyst for synthesizing methacrylic acid at a high yield by way of vapor phase catalytic oxidation of methacrolein. <P>SOLUTION: The method of preparing a catalyst for synthesizing methacrylic acid comprises dry-blending a solid matter A comprising molybdenum, phosphorous, vanadium, copper and X (X represents one or more species of atom(s) selected from potassium, rubidium, cesium and thallium) and containing phosphorous in an amount of not lower than 0.5 atoms and not higher than 3 atoms relative to 12 atoms of molybdenum, and a solid matter B comprising molybdenum, copper and Y (Y represents one or more species of atom(s) selected from silicon, arsenic, and germanium) and containing phosphorous in an amount of zero atom or less than 0.1 atoms relative to 12 atoms of molybdenum, subsequently molding the blend into an object, and calcining the molded object at a temperature of not lower than 300°C and not higher than 500°C. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
