摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gaming machine which enables a player to easily recognize the movement of a character in a competitive race game, and to provide a controlling method thereof. <P>SOLUTION: An operation pattern including data on the positional coordinates of a world coordinate system at each time from the start of a race of each race horse until the finish of the game is determined (step S11). Data on a race image is generated from the determined data on the positional coordinates and written in a first frame memory (step S15). When discriminating the presence of a race horse having performed spurt operation (YES at step S16) from the monitored result of the determined data on the positional coordinates of the world coordinate system, data on an effect image for displaying a race image obtained by adding an effect to the race horse is generated and written in a second frame memory (step S17).
