PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil separator capable of scavenging oil mist which is smaller in grain diameter without increasing pressure loss and increasing the capacity of the oil separator. SOLUTION: This oil separator 20 to scavenge the oil mist contained in blow-by gas is furnished with a collision wall 26 arranged to face an inflow port 22 of the blow-by gas and against which the blow-by gas flowing in from the inflow port 22 collides, a residence chamber 28 formed in a bag shape on one side of the inflow port 22 by a wall surface continued to the collision wall 26 and a scavenging chamber 30 to scavenge the oil mist formed in a route to an outflow port 24 of the blow-by gas from the other side of the inflow port 22.
