<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliced data structure for particle-based simulation based on a fluid calculation method using particles and a method for loading it into a GPU for making satisfactory the using efficiency of a memory for the way of use of calculation grids to be used for neigborhood searching. <P>SOLUTION: The sliced data structure used for a particle-based simulation using a CPU or GPU 12 is a data structure for a calculation space 31. The space is a three-dimensional calculation space constructed from numerous voxels 32; and a plurality of slices 31a perpendicular to the Y axis is formed; numerous voxels are divided by a plurality of two-dimensional slices; and the respective starting coordinates of the maximum and minimum voxels are calculated for a range of voxels in which particles are present in each of a plurality of two-dimensional slices; and the voxel range is determined as a bounding box surrounded by a rectangular shape; and memory is provided for the voxels contained in the bounding boxes of each of the plurality of two-dimensional slices. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
