PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable properly illuminating a subject in photographing it. SOLUTION: The control device of an illumination device (6) for illuminating a subject (3) as a photographic target of an imaging device (1) is provided with a position-identifying means (10) for identifying the position of the subject within a photographic image angle (α) of the imaging device; an optical axis changing means (8), capable of changing the optical axis (7) of the illuminating device; and a control means (10) for controlling the operation of the optical axis changing means so that the optical axis of the illuminating device coincides, or substantially coincides with the position of the subject identified by the position-identifying means.
