The method involves designing a cylindrical surface-mountable resistor (1) from electrode caps (4) on a surface of a tin-containing layer, and designing a resistor body (2). An oxide coating, which is formed during designing of the resistor, is removed. The surface of the layer is removed by immersion of the resistor for a pre-determined immersing time into a solution of hydrochloric acid. An anti-oxidation layer is formed for prevention of oxidation of an electrode cap surface after the removal of the oxide layer and the surface of the layer.
