The device has a releasing device designed as a manually operatable switch and/or push button for activating a control device. The control device is designed such that the control device controls parameters e.g. closing windows and sun roof, in such a manner that work-promoting short sleep is favored. A wake-up facility is designed such that the facility wakes a person e.g. driver and/or passenger, enjoying the short sleep after a pre-determined time or after 30 minutes. The facility activates a massage function in a motor vehicle seat and disperses a scent in a passenger compartment. An independent claim is also included for a method for enabling a work-promoting short sleep in a motor vehicle.
