The unit (1) has a sliding element (15) cooperating with a sealed package (2) to guide the package along a path from a feeding station (4) to an output station. A guidance unit (17) cooperates with the package along the path to tilt the package from a feeding position, in which the package is aligned with an axis (A) into a direction (B), to an output position, in which the package is aligned with the axis into another direction (C). The directions define an angle (beta), which lies in the range between 45 and 55 degrees. An independent claim is also included for a method for transferring and tilting a sealed package.
