PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To illuminate only desired area of a liquid crystal panel display, e.g. the channel display part of a portable transmitter-receiver so as to reduce power consumption. SOLUTION: A dome-shaped surface is formed on one face of a rectangular plate made of an opaque acrylic resin and the center of the dome is conically recessed to fabricate a diffusion plate 2. The resultant diffusion plate 2 is stuck to the desired area of the rear surface a liquid crystal panel 1 and LED 3 is disposed on a substrate 4 so that it is situated at the center of the conical recess to introduce light into the diffusion plate 2. Light emitted by the LED 3 reaches even the corners of the diffusion plate 2 as shown by broken lines. |
