<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve combustion in a combustion chamber, and to suppress fluctuation of torque output from an internal combustion engine, when operating the internal combustion engine in a required operation state. <P>SOLUTION: When idling the engine 22, a tumble control valve is fully closed, thereafter an opening TC of the tumble control valve is adjusted until a fluctuation deviation J that is a deviation of the torque fluctuation ΔTe to initial torque fluctuation ΔTeset becomes a positive threshold value J1 or below (S290), and an EGR amount R or opening/closing timing VT of an exhaust valve is adjusted such that the fluctuation deviation J becomes smaller (S310, S330). The opening TC of the tumble control valve after the adjustment is smaller than before the full closing. Accordingly, when idling the engine, the combustion inside the combustion chamber of the engine can be improved, and it can be suppressed that the fluctuation of the torque output from the engine becomes large. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
