<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waste liquid treatment method and apparatus for methane fermentation digested liquid which enable recovery and reuse of phosphorus and reduction of operating cost. <P>SOLUTION: In the waste liquid treatment method, when the methane fermentation digested liquid 1 remaining after the methane fermentation treatment of an organic residue is subjected to waste liquid treatment after being sequentially subjected to a solid matter separation process 6, the phosphorus recovery process 9, and the nitrogen control process 12, an acid or an acid and a fibrous material, or the organic residue or an organic acid fermentation product 2 of the organic residue is added to the methane fermentation digested liquid 1 before the solid matter separation process 6.
