PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent range-finding errors due to saturation, and to enable range-finding even at a close distance to an object. SOLUTION: The range-finding device includes: a light emitting means for emitting flash light so as to photograph the object; and an integrating means for receiving the object light, photoelectrically converting the object light and cumulatively integrating charges obtained by emitting light a plurality of times, wherein the light is intermittently emitted the plurality of times so that the emitted light width at the second or subsequent emission time may be larger than that at the first emission time, and range-finding is performed based on the obtained integrated value. The range-finding device also includes: a determination means for determining whether or not the integrated value after the first light emission reaches a predetermined value, and also, determining whether or not the integrated value after every light emission reaches a predetermined saturation value; and a re-range-finding control means for resetting the emitted light width at the first emission so that the emitted light width may become larger than that at the first emission but smaller than that at the second emission when the integrated value after the first light emission does not reach the predetermined value and the integrated value after the second light emission reaches the predetermined saturation value, and then, performing range-finding again from when the light is emitted the first.
