PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further improve the efficiency of a drag-type windmill which is a savonius-type windmill provided with guide blades. SOLUTION: In this drag-type windmill with a plurality of blades 6-9 approximately in a half cylindrical shape arranged around an output shaft 2 at even intervals and the guide blades 11-14 added in front of the recessed surface sides of the half cylindrical blades 6-9, the guide blades 11-14 are flat plates, and moreover, the outside ends of the guide blades 11-14 are positioned on a circumference passing the outside end positions of the half cylindrical blades 6-9 while having the output shaft 2 as a center in front of the recessed surface sides of the half cylindrical blades 6-9, and the inside ends of the guide blades 11-14 are at positions forming clearances 15-18 between the inside end positions of the half cylindrical blades 6-9 and themselves, that are on a line segment connecting the inside end positions of the half cylindrical blades 6-9 and the outside ends of the guide blades 11-14.
