PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spindle device capable of suppressing adverse effect by heat generation in use. SOLUTION: This spindle device is provided with a spindle 1, bearing sleeves 3 and 4, a cooling sleeve 15, and a housing 2. The bearing sleeves 3 and 4 have intake holes 3b, 3c and 4c arranged to face partial parts of a side surface of the spindle 1 for supplying gas to spaces between the partial parts of the side surface of the spindle 1 and themselves formed thereon. The cooling sleeve 15 is arranged to face at least a part of a region other than regions facing the bearing sleeves 3 and 4 on the side surface of the spindle 1. The housing 2 has an opening, and holds the bearing sleeves 3 and 4, the cooling sleeve 15 and the spindle 1 in the opening. On the cooling sleeve 15 formed of a porous material, a plurality of holes are formed on an inner peripheral-side surface as cooling gas supply holes for supplying a cooling gas toward the side surface of the spindle 1.
