PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil-modified phenolic resin emulsion capable of giving a molded article that has excellent properties of a phenolic resin such as heat resistance, curability and the like and exhibits excellent flexibility. SOLUTION: The phenolic resin emulsion is comprised of an oil-modified phenolic resin and a water-soluble polymer compound, where the oil is preferably at least one selected from among cashew nut oil, linseed oil, wood oil, castor oil and tall oil. Preferably, the oil-modified phenolic resin has an oil-modification ratio of 10-60 wt.%. Preferably, the oil-modified phenolic resin is of resol-type. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
