PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power storage unit capable of efficiently controlling the absorption and discharge of regenerative power by detecting a traveling position of a train. SOLUTION: The power storage unit comprises a power storage means connected to a DC feed line, a charge/discharge control means capable of controlling charge/discharge to/from the power storage means, a vehicle position detection means capable of detecting a vehicle position, and a charge/discharge timing setting means capable of setting the timing of charge/discharge to/from the power storage means. The charge/discharge timing setting means sets the timing for performing the charge/discharge to/from the power storage means based on information detected by the vehicle position detection means, and the charge/discharge control means performs the charge/discharge to/from the power storage means based on the timing set by the charge/discharge timing setting means.
