PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a wheelchair lifter which permits the wheelchair to be easily loaded onto and unloaded from a vehicle. SOLUTION: The wheelchair lifter 2 has a lifting base 10 horizontally lifted by four hydraulic cylinders 11 to 14, and front side casters 22 and 23 and 24 and 25 attached to the outside periphery of the front side hydraulic cylinders 11 and 12, and loop ropes 26 and 27 functioning as a handle are attached between the front side casters 22 and 23, and between the front side casters 24 and 25. Grasping the right and left ropes 26 and 27 and pulling up the wheelchair lifter 2 onto the floor 41 of the vehicle makes the font side casters 23 and 25 butt against the rear edge of the floor, and the wheelchair lifter 2 tilts forward on the casters and becomes horizontal. After that, since the wheelchair lifter 2 is brought into a supported condition by the front side casters 22 to 25, the wheelchair lifter 2 can be easily pushed into a vehicle interior along the top face 3a of a floor plate 3.
