<p>Binder composition for foundry molds and/or cores containing water glass, added as such, which can be obtained in situ from kieselguhr and an alkaline solution, and at least one naturally occurring particulate amorphous silicic acid material. The water glass can be prepared in situ, especially from lye and colloidal silica gel, or can be an alkali metal silicate, especially Li-, Na-, or K silicate. The amorphous silicic acid material can be Puzzolan. The composition can contain other additives, e.g. dispersing agents, wetting agents, bentonite, borates, polyborates, colloidal kieselguhr, water.</p> |
