<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus and the like for performing a highly-accurate tone correction in a relatively short time. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided with: a means of aligning tone patches in the main or sub scanning direction (41k, c, y, m) for each image forming unit and forming them on a sheet, and aligning markers indicating positions of the tone patches in the same direction as the direction in which the tone patches are each aligned (42k, c, y, m) and forming them on the sheet; a means of reading the image forming sheet with the tone patches and markers formed thereon as an original in the scanning function; a means of specifying the coordinates of each of the tone patches in the direction of the aligned tone patches based on the read markers (42k, c, y, m); a means of extracting the density of each of the tone patches (41k, c, y, m) read based on the specified coordinates of each of the tone patches as a reference; and an updating means of updating the tone correction table based on relationships between the extracted density of each of the tone patches and tone level. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
