CONTROL METHOD OF OPTICAL TRANSMITTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method of an optical transmitter in which the wavelength of output light can be adjusted as desired regardless of the temperature of a laser diode at start.

SOLUTION: An operating element 36 adjusts the temperature of an LD 2 within a first temperature range and adjusts the temperature of an etalon filter 8 within a second temperature range by controlling a first TEC control element 18 and a second TEC control element 26. After the temperature of the LD 2 is settled within the first temperature range and the temperature of the etalon filter 8 is settled within the second temperature range, the operating element 36 controls a bias circuit 28 to supply the LD 2 with a bias current.
