PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold platen allowing attempts of optimization of the reinforcing structure for the mold platen and its lightening, while ensuring sufficient strength, and an injection molding machine. SOLUTION: A casting-cut hole 40 is formed asymmetrically so that the stiffness of the portion of the periphery-reinforcing rib 36 on the side of the mold attachment plate 31 is higher than that of the portion on the side of the back-surface plate 32, especially in such a way as to improve the stiffness of the mold attachment plate 31 according to requirements, in order to optimize the reinforcing structure of the mold platen 30. For the purpose, the mold platen 30 is lightened practically by ensuring sufficient stiffness effectively with necessary minimum ribs, without increasing ribs more than before. The optimization and lightening enable the control of the production costs of the mold platen 30, a reduction of the load of the driving mechanism driving the movable mold platen, etc. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
